April Fools Day

This Friday is the 1st of April and in the U.S. it's also a "holiday" called April Fools Day. What is that? Well, on this day people play tricks and jokes on other people. People play tricks like: exchanging the sugar for salt so that when you add it to your coffee, it's sour; placing a whoopy cushion on chairs; and much more! Every year people play different jokes and even some companies participate in this day. Check out this website for more examples: http://www.aprilfools.com/

So what day is similar to this in Spain? December 28th, el Día de los Santos Inocentes! Now you can celebrate this day TWICE a year!

  3. Hello !

I'm from lucena and I have some questions about this "holiday", because in Spain we have " El día de los Santos Inocentes " but it's diferent, in US is like that all family does jokes, what's more, the companies play jokes their workers.
I remember Britain's joke to this year was that Cristiano Ronaldo, football player of Real Madrid, became in Spaniard to help her country with much money.
I think in spain it's so different, for example, I don't play jokes. I just say to my friends : Congratulation for your day ( because you're stupid).

Same Halloween I would like add to the Spanish culture " the fool's day " American.
    It's most funny.

    It was a pleasure.

  4. I knew that "El día de los santos inocentes" was similar to "April Fool's Day" but I wasn't sure of the differences. Thank you for sharing that because I didn't know what the differences were. For me, April Fool's Day isn't important and I also just tell people "Happy april fools day" but I don't play tricks on people. I think it depends on the person because everyone celebrates it a little differently.

  6. Hi Alexis
I wish it was that day so much fun here as there, because here most people do nothing, and the few people who does something not so funny. Hopefully little by little that day here in Spain to become as there. I hope you had a very well this day.

  7. @ Araceli- I'm glad you liked the joke about the sugar and salt. Some people play very funny jokes on others! But other jokes aren't so funny...

@ Jesús- Maybe you can start playing some silly tricks on people on both December 28th AND April 1st! You can find many clever trick ideas online too.
