One thing I really like about Lucena is how much people walk around. Everytime you leave your house you can see many people walking around, especially in the city center. In big cities, like Seattle, most people drive everywhere. Many people in Lucena also drive places but you always see a lot of people walking around as well. In Seattle there are some places where many people walk around like on a college campus and downtown but in the rest of the city you need to drive or take buses because everything is very far apart. I like both driving and walking but I walk much more in Lucena because everything is much closer together.
Also, in Lucena people stop and talk to their friends when they pass by. So its common when you´re walking in the city center to see many people stopped and talking with friends. In Seattle people do talk with their friends as well but they usually don´t stop to chat with someone for a while when they are walking somewhere. People are always busy in the city so if they see their friend they will say hi and then call them later to set up a time to meet and have coffee. I think the same thing happens in other big cities too like Madrid for example.
These lifestyles are different from each other and if you ever visit another country you should be aware that you´re city may function very differently from others.
Our language assistant (Alexis) will describe different aspects of her life in Lucena and in Spain in general. Students are expected to comment on the entries and make questions.

Daily Life in Lucena
When I moved to Lucena I learned about many new things. One thing that I learned about was the daily schedule. In Lucena, children start school around 8:30 in the morning. They have one break during school to have a snack and then finish school at 15:00 (and younger kids finish at 14:00). Then everyone goes home to have a large lunch and take a nap. In the evening people do many different things like play sports, watch television and do homework. Then people eat a small dinner around 21:00 and then go to bed.
In my city, Seattle, children go to school around 8:30 in the morning but instead of having a snack during school, they eat lunch. Then children finish school around 14:00 or 15:00 also. Many students go to sports practice after school for about 1 or 2 hours. Then they go home and eat dinner at around 18:00. After, the children do homework and watch television, then go to bed around 22:00.
There are many similarities between Seattle and Lucena but some things are very different!
